Through delicate chamber works, stately choral anthems, and everything in between, this concert and carol-sing will feel like a cozy gathering of friends and family sharing musical gifts together. We're turning First English Lutheran Church into our living room with free cookies and hot cocoa! Featuring special guests Harpist Anna Blauw, Trumpeter Kenken Gorder, and Pianist Benjamin Dia. Members of Austin Cantorum are travelling to Taylor, Texas to perform a set of transcendent music for A Cappella voices all about nighttime. Come feast your ears on the richness of choral pieces from composers Eric Whitacre, J.S. Bach, Moira Smiley, and more, which will showcase the gorgeous acoustics at St. James's Historic Church. BEDtime Stories
Join Austin Cantorum and storytellers from Testify for an evening of grown-up bedtime stories and music on September 21. Through powerful real life experiences and curated choral music, this concert will reflect on the nature of bedtime stories and how they've shaped our lives for the better. Featuring choral selections from Craig Hella Johnson, Tara Mack, J.S. Bach, Aimee Jensen, Eric Whitacre, and more! We're also holding a book drive as part of the event to benefit the Women's Storybook Project of Texas: bring your favorite new children's storybooks to donate to families in need. Free admission with suggested donation of $25.
